Playing Baldur's Gate in Linux

  The best way to get Baldur's Gate to work in Linux is to use Playonlinux. 

           The first thing to do is to make sure you have the up to date version of Playonlinux installed on your system. You can find this here at this site: www.playonlinux.com.

          After you have this up to date version open the Playonlinux program. You will see that i have already installed the game.

  Once you have opened the Playonlinux program, you will need to click on the install Program on the left side of your screen. Once you do this you will see the main screen for the install games. I always have better luck when I click on the bottom of the screen on the install non-listed program.

    Once you do this just open the location of your Baulders Gate set-up file and it will install easily just like in windows. Once the installation is completed uncheck the launch application and just allow the program to finish installing, this will get the files to finish. Once this is complete you will be asked to create a short-cut, just click on the Baulders gate launching application and click OK.

                              Playing is as easy as 123.

            Now you can play the game just like in windows as you double click the icon on your desktop.

      Many people claim to this day that windows is better than windows, but I will tell you that Linux is far better than windows in many ways.

    Windows has a major problem with viruses that will not only slow your computer but has the ability to destroy it too. The main reason for this is because the operating

  What a filter means is with windows you can erase any file you choose if you erase command.com, for example, you will no longer be able to start your computer. In Linux, the system will not allow you to erase any file that you need even if you are the administrator. This also means that the operating system is idiot proof, and will not allow you to destroy the system. This is one reason.

    Gaming is also better in Linux. this is due to the fact that Linux does not use upper memory, and is a smaller base. Linux allows for better graphic streaming for media and games.
